1. Melted Peanut Butter Toast - This is my new favorite breakfast. It has protein and carbs for energy and is quick and inexpensive!! Plus it tastes amazing as a morning meal, at least in my opinion. :) I love how gooey and warm the peanut butter is, and the toast makes it so it's not too overpowering.
2. My Coworkers- They are a little bit crazy sometimes, but they are also some of the kindest people you could meet!! I love how close-knit we all are, and how everyone helps out each other in big ways. They all know how to laugh though, something I think makes even the most mundane work fun!
3. Big Brother 12- The first time I ever watched this show it was an episode where the contestants got to pick their favorite meal to eat- and then had to put it in a blender and drink it. Since then I haven't watched it until I moved out here and both Jer and Trevor got me watching it. At first I hated it because all the drama reminded me too much of what I was dealing with in highschool every day, lol. But now that I'm out and it doesn't hit close to home I enjoy it. Especially the people this season. Lane is pretty much the funniest person ever to be on that show. : )
Another reason it makes me smile is because I think (even though he'd never admit it) that Trevor enjoys it more than I do.
4. "Puwrple Dress Girl" - This is the nickname that Vangie, the grandaughter of one of our recurring customers, gave me and every time the Grandma comes in she calls me it. She is a woman that is so full of love for life and charm that just talking to her makes you smile and laugh. Everyone is always happy to see her, and believe me that's rare in customer service! :P :)
5. Cyrus- This is Trevor's cousin's baby, who just turned two. He had his birthday party tonight and watching him trying to blow out the candle was cute, especially when he was like, "Mom!", in the most frustrated tone and had her do it. Once she did, he immediately lit up and smiled, saying, "Yay!".
6. Bryce Turner- Haha this person, along with Matt Lewis, was the first boy to ask me for my number when I was 12. I was hanging out at the school playground with my brothers, but they were busy playing on the swings further off. I pretty much acted too cool for them, got my brothers and left, and then freaked out about how awesome it was in my journal once I got home. He doesn't remember this, sadly.
7. Realizing Vampire Diaries is New Thursday- Say what you want about Twilight and all it's cheesy-sparkly-vampires. It's popular and mildly entertaining in the way that you don't have to think too much. The truth remains that The Vampire Diaries show is nothing like that. It has a believable plot with characters much more down to earth and realistic. It shows the full range of human emotion and how that interplays into vampire emotion. Every episode keeps you on the edge of your seat and even an experienced tv veteran can't predict the plot twists. And it doesn't hurt that Ian Somerhalder, EW's "Ultimate Sexy Beast", is on the show either. :)
8. "Mine" by Taylor Swift - I love this song. Partly because the lyrics and story of the song focuses more on my age group, and partly because I love Toby Hemingway. I love her lyrics. They're usually simple, but manage to convey a lot of emotion at the same time. Parts of the lyrics from this song:
"...Left a small town and never looked back
I was a flight risk, afraid of fallin'
Wondering why we bother with love, if it never lasts..."
"... You learn my secrets figure out why I'm so guarded
You'll say we'll never make our parents' mistakes..."
"...You saw me start to believe for the very first time
You made a rebel of a careless man's careful daughter
You are the best thing that's ever been mine..."
"...And I remember that fight, two-thirty AM
You said everything was slipping right out of our hands
I ran out, crying, and you followed me out into the street
Braced myself for the goodbye, cause that's all I've ever known
Then, you took me by surprise
You said, "I'll never leave you alone..."
"...You said, "I remember how we felt, sitting by the water.
And every time I look at you, it's like the first time.
I fell in love with a careless man's careful daughter.
She is the best thing that's ever been mine..."
How could you not like that??
9. The Dollar Tree- I'm poor. They have brand names. There's finally one right by my work. Enough said.
10. Olive Garden- They're building one in the shopping complex where I work, and everytime I drive by there I get excited. They have the wood framing all done, in case you were wondering. I do. Just thinking about having them within a ten minute radius (instead of forty-fifty) is mouthwatering! :)
11. The fact that I managed to make it to ten!!! : D
