2012 Overview

1. What did you do in 2012 that you’d never done before? Finally finished a novel, got my first apartment, got my very own pet...
2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year? To be honest, I don't think I remember mine. I know all of the one's Trevor made came oppositely true though, haha.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth? My best friend Erica had a baby boy, and I am very upset that I haven't seen him yet. Other than that, no. Although Allison, Trevor's unofficial sister-in-law is having a baby girl that's due in March. :)
4. Did anyone close to you die? Yes, unfortunately my Grandma Weidman died just about a month ago from a strong form of lung cancer. It was fairly sudden and unexpected, but I am grateful I was able to go to the memorial in Virginia Beach and see all of my family.
5. What countries did you visit? :( None. Visited Utah, Nevada, and Virginia though.
6. What would you like to have in 2013 that you lacked in 2012? I would like to have more self-control with my finances, more time spent with friends and family, and better motivation to keep myself healthy.
7. What dates from 2012 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? December 8th, my Grandma's death. The others are more events than they are dates.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? Either getting my own apartment or finishing my novel. Probably the latter though, that was a lot of work.
9. What was your biggest failure? Getting a title loan for more than I should have. I made a lot of unwise financial decisions this year that I've had to learn from. Luckily I've had a lot of patient and generous people to help me work through everything and all of my mistakes.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury? Yes, but it's an illness that's not going away so I'm not sure it counts, haha.
11. What was the best thing you bought?   My puppy Charlie. :)
12. Whose behavior merited celebration? Obviously Trevor has continued to be such an unwavering support that I'm continuously in awe of him. My parents have also become good friends in a way that they weren't last year as I start to realize what it's like to grow up. My aunt Jer and uncle Thomas are also amazing, as well as Suzi who has supported me with little things all year.
13. Whose behavior appalled you? Not going to name any names. Lessons were learned, mistakes were made, people move on. :) Life is a funny thing and it's funny how some people's actions can change your life for the good even if the actions themselves were sucky.
