Little Inspirations

   So I decided to forgo New Year's Resolutions this year... making the resolution seems to be a jinx anyway. :)  Instead I decided to find some themes and inspiration for this year. So far it seems to be working, and I've had a lot more positive outlook and less stress in my life. Can you believe it? Crazy what the power of positive thinking does. I thought I would share a few of them.



       1. Vive ut vivas, Latin for "Live so that you may live" 

        How can I even begin to describe how much I have needed this at times in my life as someone who has struggled with severe depression? It's an extremely powerful quote for me. A reminder that no matter how much I may want to quit sometimes that there is always a way to turn everything around, that life is a big adventure, and more importantly that living is an action, and not just a state of being.

       2. The only person and thing with the power to ruin your life is you.

       This may seem silly and obvious to some people, but it means a lot more to me. I have been through terribly hard things that were caused by the actions of other people and it is so entirely easy to let that blame and hurt and all that hardship control you. So this statement, reminding once again that living is an action and that there is always something to do, is also very self-affirming to me. If my life is making unhappy, it is because of the choices that I'm making to not make changes right away.

        3. Grandpa Weidman making me promise to marry someone who loved me as much as he loved Grandma, and the following poem that describes that love:

How can you beat that? So romantic, loving, and caring. This year I'm trying to focus on being a better girlfriend and working harder in my relationship with Trevor, as well as the other people around me.
